🧪 INSTALLATION + USAGE GUIDE
✅ Requirements:
- Rhino 7 or Rhino 8
- Grasshopper (built-in to Rhino)
- Visual Studio 2022
- .NET Framework 4.8
📦 STEP 1: COMPILE THE COMPONENT
- Open Visual Studio 2022
- Create a Class Library (.NET Framework) project.
- Set the target framework to .NET 4.8
- Add references to:
- RhinoCommon.dll
- Grasshopper.dll
- (Optional) System.Drawing for custom icons
- Copy and paste the full C# code of WickersonRealityPatternX1 into your class.
- Add a proper GUID and ensure a unique namespace/class name.
- Compile the .dll.
📁 STEP 2: LOAD INTO GRASSHOPPER
- Rename the compiled .dll to have .gha extension (e.g., WickersonRealityPatternX1.gha)
- Move it into:
- makefile
- CopyEdit
- C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\Libraries\
- Restart Rhino and open Grasshopper.
- The component will appear under:
- makefile
- CopyEdit
- Tab: WickersonStudios
- Category: PhysicsPhilosophy
🧠 STEP 3: USE IN YOUR DESIGN
- Add it to your Grasshopper canvas.
- Adjust parameters:
- ModelName: "quantum", "platonic", "chaotic", etc.
- CountX, CountY, CountZ for resolution
- Amplitude, Frequency, PhaseShift for funk
- Time: animate with a slider
