🧪 INSTALLATION + USAGE GUIDE

✅ Requirements:

  • Rhino 7 or Rhino 8
  • Grasshopper (built-in to Rhino)
  • Visual Studio 2022
  • .NET Framework 4.8

📦 STEP 1: COMPILE THE COMPONENT

  1. Open Visual Studio 2022
  2. Create a Class Library (.NET Framework) project.
  3. Set the target framework to .NET 4.8
  4. Add references to:
  • RhinoCommon.dll
  • Grasshopper.dll
  • (Optional) System.Drawing for custom icons
  1. Copy and paste the full C# code of WickersonRealityPatternX1 into your class.
  2. Add a proper GUID and ensure a unique namespace/class name.
  3. Compile the .dll.

📁 STEP 2: LOAD INTO GRASSHOPPER

  1. Rename the compiled .dll to have .gha extension (e.g., WickersonRealityPatternX1.gha)
  2. Move it into:
  3. makefile
  4. CopyEdit
  5. C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\Libraries\
  6. Restart Rhino and open Grasshopper.
  7. The component will appear under:
  8. makefile
  9. CopyEdit
  10. Tab: WickersonStudios
  11. Category: PhysicsPhilosophy

🧠 STEP 3: USE IN YOUR DESIGN

  • Add it to your Grasshopper canvas.
  • Adjust parameters:
  • ModelName: "quantum", "platonic", "chaotic", etc.
  • CountX, CountY, CountZ for resolution
  • Amplitude, Frequency, PhaseShift for funk
  • Time: animate with a slider
  • Watch your design pulse with philosophical and physical resonance.
